Ask the Experts about Managing Side Effects of HIV Treatment
On 4-30-09 I found out I had HIV+. I did not go for help. I keep myself away from everybody. I was so depressed and couldn't eat anything except drinking ensure, B12-1000mcg for streght, C-1000mcg for not catch a cold. Now I found out C-1000mcg have a lot acid that could damaged your teeth. On 6-12-09 I go in to see a doctor for treatment. On 6-29-09 before my next appointment I have a high fever and I don't know if I could take fever meds because I have HIV+. My doctor prescribed this medication sulfamethoxazole with trimethoprim for bacterial infection and pneumonia, metronidazole to stop the growth of bacteria,megestorol suspension for appetite it works right away,acetaminophen for fever and chest x-ray. My doctor say that my immune system is low and need another blood sample. When I go to another building for chest X-Ray, that's when I found out I had aids on X-RAY's paper my vial load 35,400 or 354,400 and t-cell 112. I know that my doctor doesn't want to tell me the bad news. I want to know is it treatable or do I have a very good chance on treatment or I'm I too late because my next appointment is 8-28-09 that's like two month. My fever keep coming back every 3.5 to 5 hours and it been 3 days or should I go to the emergency. How long do I live with treatment or without treatment. Please response ASAP Thank you so much

Treatment can be very effective at restoring and protecting the health of AIDS pxs such as yourself. I would be insistent to be seen in clinic for further evaluation and to start antiretroviral therapy sooner rather than later. KH
